Breakfast in the hotel and morning dedicated to visiting the city center. Starting from Piazza Municipio dominated by Maschio Angioino, imposing castle built in the 13th century for the Angevin court with the five cylindrical towers and the Arc de Triomphe, then towards the Real Teatro San Carlo, built in 1737 by order of Charles of Bourbon: it is the oldest and among the most beautiful in Europe and can accommodate up to three thousand spectators. In front you will be able to see the Galleria Umberto I, an elegant commercial passage from the end of the 19th century and, continuing, here appears Piazza Plebiscito, delimited by the seventeenth-century Royal Palace, residence of the Bourbons during the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. Traveling along Via Toledo in its entirety you come across Spaccanapoli, the renowned street that divides the city into two parts, and therefore, Piazza del Gesù Nuovo.

The visit continues with the Santa Chiara complex, a sumptuous emblem of the overlap of styles, tastes and cultures typical of the city and San Domenico Maggiore. Continuing along Via Benedetto Croce, you can admire the Piazzetta Nilo with the statue dedicated to the god Nile, called “Corpo di Napoli”, because it is said to correspond to the exact center of the city. We will then continue along the way San Gregorio Armeno, the picturesque street of nativity scenes, and again, to the Basilica of San Lorenzo Maggiore and via Duomo, with the large cathedral.

Breakfast and transfer to Salerno to take the coastal line to Amalfi, a place that gives its name to the entire coast, nestled between the sea and the mountains. City with a glorious history, it was the main maritime republic. The symbol of Amalfi is the Cathedral with its steep staircase, the façade with gold leaf and bronze door, also worth visiting inside is the cloister of paradise. Also interesting is the Civic Museum in which the Tabula Amalphitana is kept.
Transfer via coast line to Positano, a very popular holiday destination since Roman times. The city is built on multiple floors, connected by a myriad of stairs, climbs and descents. The church of Santa Maria Assunta and the delightful historic center are also worth a visit, full of shops and boutiques of the renowned Positano fashion. Breakfast and visit to the famous excavations of Pompei, the ancient city buried under a blanket of ash and lapilli during the eruption of Vesuvius in 79 AD, together with Herculaneum, Stabiae and Oplontis. The findings, following the excavations, are among the best testimonies of Roman life. The considerable quantity of finds was useful for understanding the uses, customs, eating habits and art of life of over two millennia ago. In 1997, to preserve its integrity and underline its importance, the ruins became part of the list of world heritage sites.
